These small, workshop style yoga series meet you where you are and help you increase activity at a pace that makes sense for your body and your goals.
By combining the therapeutic principles of yoga with the movement science of corrective exercise we are able to find balance between living with chronic illness and living life on your terms.
What if movement was a tool, not a trigger?
What if you could join a group class:
Without feeling overwhelmed or intimidated?
That didn’t make you feel ‘broken’?
That empowered you to live more actively outside of the classroom?
...a true possibility for better movement without the fear of falling behind, becoming injured or feeling misunderstood..
Well, search no more, my friend. I've created a supportive space for you.
If you stop moving...you feel worse.
When you get moving...you feel worse..
How does one become more active without paying the painful price?
An intentional approach to movement in a supportive environment can help relieve and even prevent worsening symptoms in conditions such as:
I get you...
Don’t waste another day, month or year feeling defeated by discomfort and fatigue…
Lessons developed for symptom relief
Simple tools to support yourself at home
A buildable program that progresses as you grow stronger
Condition-focused yoga classes are made to help you better manage your chronic discomfort and overcome limitations that have been keeping you down. We will re-introduce the body to functional movement through corrective exercises and yoga postures in unique sequences that you won't find anywhere else.
Yoga poses are easily modified to make them accessible for all students, you will never feel like your yoga practice is beyond your ability.
Small group classes create a more immersive learning experience. Each student will be treated with the 1-1 attention they deserve during class. With classes designed for individuals going through similar struggles, it’s important that my students don’t feel like they are getting lost in a crowd.
Essential oils can help to reduce stress, ease muscle pain, encourage sleep, and bring awareness to the breath. These oils are diffused during class based on the needs of the students.

Still on the fence?
These classes are the perfect fit for you, if...
You want to move with less pain with a chronic illness or condition
You want to learn how to get moving without constant setbacks
You are looking for a holistic approach to movement that focuses on the person with the condition, not the condition alone
You want restorative pain relief techniques built into every lesson
You want to be able to repeat what you learn at home or integrate it into other movement programs
You want to create a trusting relationship with your teacher and the other students in a small class setting
What makes this different from other yoga classes?
In these classes we move through poses and exercises with a deeper focus on improving compromised movement function as a result of chronic illness or injury. You will gain an individual understanding of your body and learn different ways to support yourself and challenge yourself through healthy movement that will create the opportunity for continued activity long term.
Do I have to have experience doing yoga?
No experience is necessary. There will never be an exercise or yoga pose that is beyond your capabilities or understanding.
What if I’m not flexible enough to do yoga?
This yoga practice will meet you where you are each day with no demand to meet a certain standard of appearance or ability. You will achieve the necessary flexibility for better mobility in these classes.
How can I ensure that I won’t become injured?
Each class will provide you with yoga props to support you in every exercise and posture to ensure you're achieving the desired effect. We will discuss what you should and shouldn't be feeling in each exercise. Open communication is important so that you understand how to modify a pose if you feel unsafe.
MEET THE TEACHER
I'm Ashley! So glad you're here!
I am the founder and lead instructor of Modified Movement. I started my business teaching private therapeutic yoga / corrective exercise programs in 2016 with the goal of helping those with physical limitations find better opportunities for movement and relieve chronic discomfort. I fell into the world of modified exercise after clients began finding remedy and relief from their chronic issues in my local yoga classes.
I am proud to say that I have had exemplary results helping clients find lasting relief from Arthritis, nerve compression, Osteoporosis, lymph edema, and Scoliosis. I have built amazing relationships with my clients and this has been the most rewarding experience.
My undying lust for learning keeps me busy with continued education and research on an almost daily basis, finding new and innovative ways to give you the very best results.
